In 2016, after years of suffering from heavy depression, an anxiety disorder, and hiding my illnesses, I decided to burst my bubble, quit my double life, and confront my paralyzing fears. While being physically and mentally at my lowest point, I had to disconnect from all the things that I didn't want in my life and connect to the core of everything – my emotions and needs. Since my main purpose was clear, my side mission was to travel with nothing more than my camera, some clothes, and a few dollars. I wanted to live in various places to experience cultural differences, explore photography centered around people, and expand my horizon by exchanging with other minds as much as possible.

I made the decision to do photography without zoom and with a 23mm prime lens, as having a predefined area to move in reminded me of my 10 years as a youth academy football player. My camera setup was my new football pitch, and to get better and win, I had to practice and improve within the limited space. 'If I don't take a good photo, it's not the camera’s fault. It's because I am too afraid to approach the situation, connect to the person, and take the picture.' When I left, I didn't know how my pictures would look, where my journey would lead me, and in which year it would end, but curiosity was my motivation, photography was my path, and expression my purpose.

Having a Polish family, growing up in Berlin, Germany and being heavily influenced by my multicultural friends set the base for what I am today. With this background, I am travelling to live my passion of meeting people different from me. It is my fuel to embrace and further develop my multicultural interest, sensibility and skills.
